TIDBITES SAGA:

LUPO DI MARE, REHOBOTH BEACH

I'd heard of this restaurant for some time. So, when Robert said he was going to dinner there the other night, I jumped at the chance. It's in a new hotel right downtown.
It's esthetically OK—very New York, virtually too much so.
And the food was only so-so and expensive. Nothing speculator. I was rather disappointed. I had pork over spinach and beans. The Caprese salad was good, however.
The service was impeccable.

Much more fun was had when we went to the Blue Moon to see Pamela Stanley perform. She's a hoot and quite a good singer. Her rendition of Freeway of Love was superb. A fun time by all!

I look forward to your restaurant reviews. I was wondering about this restaurant in Hotel Rehoboth. I haven't heard anything (good or bad) about it so I assumed it was yet another overpriced, so-so tourist restaurant in a too expensive hotel in downtown Rehoboth. I have yet to discover one restaurant that even comes close to the many excellent restaurants that I used to frequent when I vacationed in Provincetown in the 70's. Oh well.
I look forward to your next review.

Others liked the restaurant. I did not. I've got several others to visit. I'll keep you posted!

My dish was delish at Lupo, as always. I've never had a bad meal there. Blue Moon was a hoot, as it always is when Pamela shows up to sing. She's a great entertainer with lots of enthusiasm and style and a great voice.

Robert, I guess I'll give it another try, although I'm not enthusiastic.

I would not go back if you did not enjoy the food -- at least not for quite some time. There are so many other reliably good places, like Cloud 9, Finn's Fish House, and Cape Henlopen Osyter Bar, to name a few. Also I recommend trying the Metropolitan Club on Sunday morning or Monday evening, when they have a pianist tickling the ivories...

I'll take you suggestions...especially about Metropolitian Cafe.

Oops. I meant to say Cosmopolitan Grill. It used to Mano's many years ago. Just off the boardwalk on Wilmington Ave.
