MY HOUSES SAGA:

105 ATLANTIC STREET, MILTON, DE  (2004-    )

This is Don Voth, I'm going to do an exposition of the homes I've lived in. I'll start with my current one and work backwards. I now live at 105 Atlantic St., Milton, DE 19968, July 2011.

I moved here from Rehoboth Beach, Delaware in November of 2004. I changed towns because I wanted a smaller, quieter town. And boy did I get that! Milton's a quaint little Victorian shipbuilding village. It's charming! It has the largest number of historic sites than any town in Delaware. It's 2,500 townsfolk are friendly and accepting. I've made wonderful, permanent friends.

My notable home is delightful. It was built in 1867 by Reverend John Lank.

Consisting of the main room on the first floor and a bedroom on the second, it had an outdoor kitchen and a "necessary" in the back. This 1950s painting includes the dining room addition at the rear.

In the 80s and 90s, it was known as "The Bright Yellow House of Milton"—a landmark.

In 1998, it was featured in a two-page spread in Kevin Fleming's well-known coffee-table book, "The Beaches of Delaware."

When I bought it in 2004, it had a two-floor addition on the east side providing a home with two bathrooms, four bedrooms including a master suite, a basement and most beneficial, an entire living space on the main floor.

This is how it was when I bought it:
Next, I Change Some Things.
